  · Conducting research in the area of Maintenance Performance Management

PhD in Industrial Engineering June 2007, GPA 3.96/4

  · PhD dissertation project at Dofasco Steel: Developed a methodology that can extract expert opinion, combine it with data, and use it in complex decision-making models. The result of this research is published in Journal of Operations Research Society, a top journal in the field.

  SELECTED PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE

  BANAK INC. Toronto, Canada

  Consultant March 2008-Present

  · Conducted a consulting project for Enbridge Gas Distribution. The objective of the project was to find the economic life of Enbridge’s steel mains and find optimum maintenance tactics. Because of the project, estimated NPV of potential savings of 105 million dollars was achieved. The results were evaluated “excellent” by the client. The results of the project are to be submitted to a refereed journal. Because of the satisfaction of the client we are called in to do a second project.

  · Conducted a consulting project for Hydro One Networks. The objective of the project was to design a tool to predict future operation and maintenance costs of Hydro One. The result of the project was described “outstanding” by the client. The results of the project are to be submitted to a refereed journal.

  · Directed and conducted a consulting project for 12 petrochemical plants in the Persian Gulf region. The objective of the project was to assess the current physical asset management practices of the plants and it provided them with a gap analysis and areas for improvements. The client was also provided with a list of training programs and implementation projects in order to take their practices to the next level over the next five years.

  · Conducting Life Cycle Costing calculation for a major electricity distributor in New Zealand.

  · Conducted a consulting project for a Chilean company producing cupper. The objective of the project was to assess the current physical asset management practices of the plants and it provided them with a gap analysis and areas for improvements. The client was also provided with a list of training programs and implementation projects in order to take their practices to the next level (World Class Asset Management) over the next few years.
